7. 14th Street
Oil on canvas, 15"x22"
This was the view from the corner by our house. 14th Street was one of the first streets to be gentrified. Before the gentry took over, we kids enjoyed breaking into abandoned buildings to look around. Today's reality of crack addiction makes that a far more dangerous endeavor (since crack addicts will often take over abandoned buildings). Ah, the happy days of innocence when all we had to worry about were alchohol and heroin. |
